New Coinbase savings account UK option lands for UK customers, here are the basics, setup steps, and key terms to read first before you sign up.

Coinbase has started offering a new savings account to eligible users in the UK. Once the rollout is complete, the Coinbase Savings Account, powered by ClearBank, will pay 3.75% AER interest (variable) on GBP balances. Interest is paid daily.

Key features

  • Instant deposits and withdrawals

  • No minimum balance, no lock-in

  • FSCS protection on eligible deposits up to £85,000 (across all accounts held with ClearBank)

Coinbase says it’s the first crypto-native exchange to offer this type of account in the UK. The idea is to put traditional finance and crypto in one place, so customers can save, hold, and move money with more confidence.

Adding an instant access savings option alongside Coinbase’s crypto platform, stablecoins, and more than 260 assets is part of its push to make money management simpler for UK users.

The UK is Coinbase’s biggest market outside the US and a major focus for expansion. The launch comes after Coinbase received its VASP registration from the Financial Conduct Authority in February 2025, making it the largest UK-registered crypto exchange.

Coinbase United Kingdom (UK) roadmap

This savings account fits into Coinbase’s longer-term plan to build an all-in-one finance app for the UK. The focus is on useful, everyday tools, from basic saving to using crypto for investing and payments.

Crypto is becoming a regular part of how people handle money, from holding assets like Bitcoin to paying with stablecoins. The savings account helps bridge pounds and crypto, giving users a clearer path from cash savings to digital assets.

Eligible UK Coinbase customers can apply for a Coinbase Savings Account through the app.
