Poynter joined OneRoyal in 2024 as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), as FNG reported exclusively at the time. He moved into the CCO position in late 2025 after OneRoyal appointed former Doo Prime, M4Markets, and Tickmill executive Marilena Iakovou as its new CMO.
Before joining OneRoyal, Poynter held CMO positions at online brokers HYCM, FXChoice, and Axiory. He also worked as Head of Sales and Partnerships at NAGA. His previous roles include Head of Marketing at ATFX Global Markets (CY) Ltd, the European operation of ATFX and its former brand, Positiva Markets. Earlier in his career, he held marketing positions at easyMarkets, FXTM, and FxPro. He entered the industry in 2010.
Founded in 2006, OneRoyal is a multi-licensed broker that offers CFDs to retail traders under the OneRoyal brand and institutional services through OnePrime. The company holds licenses from CySEC, ASIC, VFSC, and the FSA. Its retail business is headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, while its institutional operation is based in Sydney, Australia. Lebanese businessman Rayan Al Annan controls the company.
Poynter announced his departure in a LinkedIn post, saying he is now open to new commercial leadership roles.
After more than 15 years of building and growing FX and CFD businesses, I'm available for my next commercial challenge.
I've never written one of these posts before.
In the past, when a role ended, I usually kept quiet, made a few calls, and allowed my network, industry contacts, and headhunters to take things forward. Most of my opportunities came through those channels. This time, I've decided to approach it differently.
My career has covered digital marketing, sales, affiliates and IBs, partnerships, and CMO and CCO leadership. The consistent focus throughout has been commercial growth.
I enjoy building businesses, fixing underperforming areas, identifying missed revenue, developing teams, entering new markets, expanding IB and affiliate networks, closing partnerships, and improving acquisition, conversion, and retention. I also like working closely with the numbers to understand what is driving performance.
At OneRoyal, I moved from CMO to CCO and led an international commercial organization across sales, business development, and partnerships. During that period, the business achieved strong growth in funded clients and deposits, improved conversion rates, and placed greater emphasis on client quality and business economics instead of volume alone.
Affiliates and IBs have been part of my career for more than 20 years. I began on the affiliate side, building websites, paying for traffic with my own money, and earning revenue from the customers I referred.
Since then, I've created and managed affiliate programs, as well as international IB and partnership teams. Having worked on both sides of those relationships gives me a perspective that isn't common in the industry.
I'm now considering CCO, CRO, CSO, and commercially focused CMO positions, mainly in FX and CFDs, crypto, and iGaming.
Cyprus is home, but I'm open to international companies, remote or hybrid arrangements, and regular travel for the right role.
If we've worked together, competed with each other, done business together, or simply know each other through this small industry, I'd be glad to hear from you.
An introduction would also be appreciated if you know someone building an ambitious company that could benefit from my experience in commercial strategy, sales, affiliates and IBs, partnerships, acquisition, and digital marketing.
