London-based retail stockbroker Freetrade has named Jenny Zhao as its next chief executive officer.
Her appointment still needs regulatory approval. Once approved, she will replace Viktor Nebehaj, who co-founded the company 10 years ago with Adam Dodds.
Zhao joins from Farewill, where she was managing director at the tech company focused on wills and funeral planning. Before that, she spent almost five years at clean energy supplier Bulb, where she held several senior marketing roles and later became general manager for the company's work in France, the US, and Spain. She also worked at media agency Manning Gottlieb for nearly five years.
Freetrade was one of the first UK firms to offer commission-free stockbroking. The company now has more than £4bn in client assets under management, and IG Group bought it at the start of last year.
