Maria Shenouda joins Base Markets as Head of Sales

Newly launched Dubai-based CFDs broker Base Markets has appointed industry executive Maria Shenouda as Head of Sales.

Shenouda recently left her role as Sales Director at MENA-focused broker Daman Markets. Before joining Daman, she spent six years at StoneX (NASDAQ:SNEX), which operates the Forex.com and City Index trading brands. In Dubai, she held roles including Senior High-Net-Worth Client Relationship Manager and Associate Director of Global Business, Relationship Management. She previously worked as a Relationship Manager at Swissquote.

Former Pepperstone Head of Middle East Alex Kolpokchi launched Base Markets earlier this year. The company is domiciled in Mauritius and appears to be focusing initially on MENA and Arabic-speaking clients. It also recently hired another Pepperstone MENA alumnus, Nazim Moussaoui, as Head of Premium Clients and Partnerships.

In a LinkedIn post announcing her new role, Shenouda said she has more than 18 years of financial sales experience across the GCC and MENA. She said Base Markets appealed to her because it was built around core brokerage services, including experienced staff, reliable infrastructure and payments, strong controls, and consistent client support.

Shenouda also said she plans to build a sales team focused on expertise, transparency, and long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, introducing brokers, and corporate clients across the GCC and wider MENA region. She thanked Alexander Kolpokchi for the opportunity and invited traders, family offices, and introducing brokers to connect with her.
