Fireblocks Names Former SEC Commissioner Elad Roisman Chief Regulatory and Policy Officer

Fireblocks has appointed former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Elad Roisman as its Chief Regulatory and Policy Officer and General Counsel, Regulatory. The appointment adds extensive government, legal, and financial markets experience to the company's executive team as it expands its work with institutional clients in digital assets and blockchain-based finance.

Roisman will lead Fireblocks' global regulatory strategy, policy discussions, and legal matters involving regulation. He will also act as the company's primary contact with regulators and standards-setting organizations in the United States, Europe, and other major markets. His appointment took effect immediately.

During his time at the SEC, Roisman also served as Acting Chairman. He took part in more than 100 rulemakings and over 1,000 enforcement actions. He represented the agency before Congress and international organizations, including the International Organization of Securities Commissions and the Financial Stability Board.

Before joining the SEC, Roisman was Chief Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. He previously worked as Chief Counsel at NYSE Euronext, where he gained experience in securities regulation, exchange operations, government policy, and financial markets.

Roisman's most recent role was as a Partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he co-led the firm's Digital Assets Practice. He advised banks, financial institutions, and fintech companies on digital asset regulation and market structure. He also testified before Congress on proposed legislation affecting digital asset markets.

His move to Fireblocks comes as regulators and financial institutions place greater attention on digital assets, stablecoins, tokenization, and blockchain-based financial services. In his new position, Roisman will work with policymakers, regulators, standards bodies, and financial institutions as governments continue to develop rules for these markets.

Fireblocks Co-Founder and CEO Michael Shaulov pointed to Roisman's experience across regulatory agencies, private practice, and major financial institutions. He said that background will help Fireblocks support customers as they expand their work in regulated financial markets.

Institutional interest in stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets has also increased the need for regulatory expertise. Banks, payment companies, asset managers, and other financial institutions need infrastructure providers that understand the legal requirements attached to these products and services.

Fireblocks offers digital asset and stablecoin infrastructure for organizations that build and operate blockchain-based financial products. Its platform supports custody, payments, settlement, tokenization, and other digital asset operations.

The company says its infrastructure has secured more than $14 trillion in digital asset transactions. That figure highlights Fireblocks' presence in the institutional digital asset market and the scale of the transactions handled through its platform.

Roisman will now help shape Fireblocks' regulatory and policy priorities while working with institutional customers and public-sector stakeholders. His appointment gives the company a senior executive with experience in securities law, financial markets, government policy, and digital asset regulation as global rules continue to take shape.
